Eric had just moved from Montana and was putting down his roots in Portland. It was a new chapter and a new beginning. At first, his employment was just a stable respectable job, clock in, clock out, and pay the bills. All that changed when he met Cassandra. Whether it was her ethereal beauty or her sweet kindness and charming reserve- Eric was won immediately. They are such a contrast, each a perfect counter-balance for the other. Her softness balanced by his decisiveness, her gentle love tempering his fearlessness. While opposites in some respects, they are one and the same heart. And that, my friends, makes a beautiful marriage.
Truth be told, I have a soft spot for this couple because my man is also from Montana ;) (Montana done good by me!) To see their love story come together brings back many happy memories for me as well.
For their engagement session, we drove to Hood River where Eric proposed after a train ride over these same railroad tracks. The weather was a perfect overcast...until we headed into the woods. Getting rained out is lame, so we set up an alternate mini shoot a few days later at Mt Tabor. The sunset cooperated beautifully and our vision came to life. :)
Camera heads: The 70-200 and 35mm have really been my go-to lenses for all these past engagement shoots. I did borrow my assistants 50mm for a few, the 100m macro for the ring shot and the 85 1.4 for a couple close ups- but mostly switching between the other 2.
