He Calls Me Pumpkin

Last week I crawled out of bed at my usual 5AM and scrambled to dress. Zip Dan off to work- then off to the coffee shop with one of the most-respected men I know.

Yes sirree. I'm married and still go on dates with my Dad. Granted, it's often at strange hours - 6:30 AM for instance,  but nonetheless, married or no, nothing could replace them.

One thing I love about my Dad (Papa to those in the know) is he always makes time. If you say you want a coffee date- boom- it will happen. Through years of business, family has always been first. I have not a single doubt that dad would drop everything for a chat even after I've moved out and have a wonderful husband of my own.

In recent years I've pestered Dad with many questions - from economics, faith, politics, ethics, and business management. He speaks from many years of successful entrepreneurship and when he talks, people listen. This morning we talked of nothing and everything. Debt, Investments, Politics and happiness.

I love you Papa.
